Terms of Service
Ground rules.
The terms for using string.sg, String ID and StringClaw. Last updated 5 October 2026.
1. These terms
String is a volunteer-run educator community based in Singapore. These terms apply when you use string.sg, String ID (id.string.sg) or StringClaw, our community assistant on Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp (together, the "services"). By using the services, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
2. Who can use the services
The services are for educators, education partners and people interested in String's work. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to use the platform you access StringClaw through. If you use the services on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to.
3. Your String ID account
Keep your sign-in methods secure, and give accurate details, especially when verifying that you are an educator. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law, or harass, impersonate or harm others;
- share students' personal data, or other people's personal data without permission;
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or infringes someone's rights;
- spam, scrape or collect member details, or use the directory for unsolicited marketing;
- try to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or get around the security of the services, including StringClaw.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you share, such as profile details and messages to StringClaw. You give String a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display that content only to run and improve the services, including making community discussions searchable for members. You are responsible for having the right to share it.
6. AI answers
StringClaw uses AI to generate replies. Its answers can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they are not official, professional or Ministry of Education guidance. Check anything important before you rely on it or use it with students. Use of StringClaw is also subject to our AI provider's usage policies.
7. Other platforms and listed products
StringClaw runs on Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp, and our events run on Luma. Their own terms and policies also apply when you use them. String is not affiliated with or endorsed by those platforms.
Products in the String catalogue are built and run by their makers, not by String. Listing a product is not an endorsement or procurement recommendation. Each product's own terms and privacy practices apply.
8. String's materials
The String name, logos and site content belong to String or its contributors. You may share links and quote reasonably with attribution. Do not suggest that String endorses you without our permission.
9. Availability and ending access
The services are free and run by volunteers. We may change, pause or stop any part of them at any time. We may suspend or remove access if you break these terms or put the community at risk. You can stop using the services at any time and ask us to delete your account.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, String and its volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from your reliance on content or AI answers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Singapore law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We will revise the date at the top of this page, and give notice of significant changes through our services. If you keep using the services after a change, you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction. Questions? Email kahhow@string.sg.
